Release Jorge Cadena Canales from Detention Immediately

Release Jorge Cadena Canales from Detention Immediately
The Issue
Jorge Canales, a cherished friend and the epitome of humanitarian spirit, has been confined in detention. This is a man who, over the past five years, has shown nothing but unflinching kindness and generosity towards everyone he encounters. Jorge has given bountifully and selflessly, expecting nothing in return. He has employed numerous individuals who would have otherwise remained unemployed, some of whom contend with severe mental health issues, on the brink of despair. It is no exaggeration to say that Jorge has not only employed these people, but also saved their lives by providing them with a sense of purpose. He has given selflessly to his family back in Mexico by providing funds to them for their health conditions and living circumstances.
In times of personal crisis, Jorge has been a pillar of support. Following the tragic loss of my eldest daughter three years ago in a car accident, Jorge stepped in with unwavering support, helping both myself and my surviving daughter through one of the darkest periods of our lives. His empathy and compassion knew no bounds. Jorge has a clean record in Mexico and in the United States he is not a criminal, yet is being treated like one. Jorge’s only desire was to live the American dream and he came to the US with his own two hands and worked seven days a week and came to own his own home, vehicles and tools. Not once has Jorge lived off welfare or the government, but he has paid his taxes every year, just like everyone else.
Regrettably, such a kind soul has been put in detention, which has sparked an outcry from those who have been touched by his benevolent hand. It's inconceivable for a man of Jorge's caliber, whose actions have been steered by love and compassion in the service of others, to be put into detention. His only fault was fear of returning to Mexico where he was kidnapped and hurt by the cartel and even lost a family member by a cartel shooting, so Jorge overstayed his work visa.
We call on the appropriate authorities to forgive and reconsider their decision and release Jorge Canales immediately. His incarceration is a disservice to the countless lives he has drastically improved. We urge you to join us in this heartfelt appeal. Show your support by signing this petition and help to free Jorge Canales so he can continue to bring light into the lives he touches.
