Hi! My name is Sammantha. I started this petition in regards to a gender-based constraint known as “Tampon Tax”; “Pink Tax”. Mississippi has the highest “Tampon Tax” in the nation coming in at 7%. Being considered a “luxury item”. Period poverty has been an ongoing issue for many years. 1 in 4 people who have a menstrual cycle have missed work, school, appointments, etc. due to lack of feminine hygiene products being available at some point in their life. Others have used feminine hygiene products for longer than the suggested amount of time due to not having anymore. Some have even resulted in using diapers, toilet paper, rags, etc. during their menstrual cycle. Please help Mississippi abolish “Pink Tax” by signing the petition today! We should NOT have to pay for feminine hygiene products let alone be taxed on them. Thank you for supporting the cause by signing the petition, it means a great deal to me!
