Das Problem

In recent years, the presence of the Russian Orthodox Church in Germany has raised security concerns in governmental and civil society circles due to its ties to Russian intelligence agencies and its role in spreading anti-democratic propaganda. German authorities must take action now to protect the country's integrity and security by harshly regulating the influence of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The Russian Orthodox Church, particularly those under the Moscow Patriarchate, has long been criticized for its proximity to the Russian state apparatus. Numerous reports suggest that these institutions serve as instruments of influence for the Russian government abroad,. Notably, they have been linked to espionage activities, undermining the trust and safety of the local communities where they operate. In Germany, Jan Marsalek, the mind behind the WireCard operation, has been found out to be a FSB agent now posing as a Russian orthodox priest in the Russian countryside.

Moreover, in light of the ongoing war against Ukraine since 2014, there have been documented instances of the church disseminating pro-war propaganda as a recruitment tool for foreign mercenaries and domestic saboteurs. This not only fuels aggression but also destabilizes peace efforts in Europe. ves.

Reducing the impact the Moscow Patriarchate is not an attack on religion or freedom of worship. It is a necessary measure to ensure that places of worship are not used as fronts for illicit activities. It is crucial for German authorities to conduct thorough investigations and, if needed, shut down any establishments found to be involved in such activities. Priests that attend to Moscow Patriarchate estates must go through a vetting process of the Bundesverfassungsschutz and Bundesnachrichtendienst.

The ties between some elements of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Kremlin are well-documented and have been reported in reputable international outlets. It is vital to act on this information for the safety and sovereignty of Germany.

I urge all who stand for peace, security, and democracy to support this cause. Our collective voice can lead to a safer and more secure Germany for all without foreign sabotage campaigns.
