Reject the Rezoning Application 2024-03-SUP by CGP Acquisition and Development LLC

Reject the Rezoning Application 2024-03-SUP by CGP Acquisition and Development LLC

The Issue

We, the residents of Dallas, GA, USA, are deeply concerned about the proposed rezoning of land lots 687; District 3; Section 3; located along the South of Dallas Acworth Hwy and Royal Sunset Drive intersection. The application by CGP Acquisition and Development LLC - Ryan O'Donell aims to establish a climate-controlled self-storage facility on this residentially zoned land. This development threatens our community's character and could potentially disrupt our peaceful neighborhood environment. We already have traffic concerns with no light to exit our neighborhood and this will only add to it.  We also have a storage unit across the street and one to the side of our neighborhood. The one next to our neighborhood has had multiple crime issues and noise complaints which cause the residents of Rosewood Park frustration. The proposed future site of this new self-storage facility will back directly up to homes causing them additional noise, crime, and lights coming through their windows at night. Please keep our neighborhood peaceful for all to live. Furthermore, it would set a dangerous precedent for future rezoning requests that could further erode residential spaces in favor of large commercial interests like storage units. We urge our local government to reject application 2024-03-SUP and preserve the B-1, B-2 zoning status without any special permits of this land for current residents' well-being and future generations'. Please sign this petition to protect our community's integrity!

Interesting Facts:

Prime Storage (next to Rosewood Park) has "plenty of availability" when contacted.

Rock Solid is only 80% full

Compass (Seven Hills Connector) is 25% full

Updated Site Plan as of 2/23/24
