As a concerned parent, my son attends Umina Beach Public School where plans for the construction of a new preschool and onsite car park have been proposed. This plan, however, includes uprooting our infant's playground and oval, significantly affecting their outdoor play area.

Safety is a prime concern, with the introduction of a car park, the risk of accidents involving our little ones could escalate. We don't want our school to be a risk zone for our children. Further, the significance of outdoor play for children cannot be overstated, with countless studies showing its importance in promoting healthy physical and emotional development.

The school has requested community feedback on this matter – this petition is our resounding 'no'. There are other areas within the school grounds that can be used for the new preschool without impinging on the current infant oval and playground. We intend to ensure that our children's safety and play areas are not compromised by this proposed construction.
