As a parent and resident of Fraser Fields, I am deeply concerned about the proposed multi-story apartment complex near our neighborhood. My children play freely in our yard and in our neighborhood, a sense of security that I fear will be threatened if this development project proceeds.

This proposal is not only a direct violation of the original covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CCRs) which ensured single-story development in Fraser Fields, thus maintaining its rich historical integrity, but it would also create inevitable traffic congestion and heightened safety concerns. The increased volume of vehicles on University and through-traffic in Fraser would undoubtedly disrupt our peaceful living, and could potentially pose a safety risk to our kids who are accustomed to playing in a lower-traffic environment.

Moreover, there is a real risk that the quiet charm and camaraderie of our community may deteriorate and give way to increased crime rates. Such concerns are not unfounded. Studies in urban communities such as ours have shown an increase in crime rates following the development of high density housing (Housing and Crime Research Consortium, 2019).

Perhaps most unsettling, the proposed structure would be towering over our neighborhood houses. The privacy risk this poses to my family and my Fraser neighbors is real and unacceptable. Those of us living close to the proposed development would be forced to give up our privacy.

This multi-story complex is not simply an architectural design; it could potentially compromise the quality of life for many Fraser Fields families. Let us protect our historical neighborhood, ensure the safety of our children, and maintain our right to privacy by opposing this development.
