Reject the Fraud: Urge the U.S. to Not Recognize Maduro’s Presidential Election
The Issue
On the night of July 28th, another dark chapter was added to Venezuela’s history when the corrupt regime declared Nicolás Maduro as the elected president, despite the clear will of millions of Venezuelans who voted for María Corina Machado’s movement, represented by Edmundo González Urrutia. The people have spoken and have shown proof of their votes.
This petition is a call to the U.S. government to refuse to recognize the fraudulent presidential election results that favor Nicolás Maduro. Maduro’s regime has consistently violated human rights, suppressed political opposition, and censored the press. Under his leadership, Venezuela’s economic crisis has worsened dramatically, causing severe shortages of food and medicine, leaving millions in desperate need.
Supporting democracy means not legitimizing a leader who perpetuates such suffering and oppression. The recent election was marred by numerous accusations of vote manipulation, coercion, and voter suppression. For the sake of global democracy, human rights, and most importantly, the well-being of the Venezuelan people, it is imperative that we reject Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
The threat posed by the Maduro regime extends beyond Venezuela and affects the entire region. I urge you to sign this petition to demand that the U.S. government condemn Nicolás Maduro’s fraudulent election and stand up for democracy and justice.
