Reject the Construction of a Dog Park at Acuña Park in Montebello

The Issue

Acuña Park, defined by its vast open space, has long served as the heart of Montebello community. It has been the home ground of our local nonprofit soccer team, offering a safe place for our children to play and grow. Now, a proposal threatens to uproot this cherished community asset to make room for a dog park, completely displacing our beloved soccer team.

The controversial proposal has been pushed through with no budget set in place and a lack of transparency that has left us, the residents of Montebello, in the dark. Our worry is that this project could lead to a surge in our taxes, without our consent or our knowledge. Moreover, the conversion of the entire open area of the park into a dog park will drastically reduce the public spaces available for communal activities.

Acuña Park has been a part of our lives, enhancing the neighborhood with its recreational facilities. We must protect it for future generations of Montebello residents. Stand with us in demanding that our local government shelves this potentially destructive project.

We ask, therefore, that due diligence and transparency in planning are observed, and the concerns of the local residents, like preserving the nonprofit soccer team's home ground, are given consideration.

Let our voices be heard. Defend our park. Let's keep soccer in Acuña Park. Sign the petition to demand the preservation of our park and our community.
