The Issue

Our community in Clyattville cherishes its tranquility, safety, and family-friendly environment. Nestled in this rural setting, we have chosen to live here specifically to enjoy a slower pace of life, away from the hustle and bustle of city developments. It is distressing to think of a future where we could open our front doors to a liquor store and other retail stores instead of the peaceful views we cherish.

Traffic in this area is already a significant issue, particularly during the school year. Accidents happen at this intersection often. Adding stores to the mix would exacerbate these problems, increasing congestion and creating a safety risk for our children, grandchildren, and other residents who use the roads daily.

Moreover, the presence of a liquor store contradicts the essence of our neighborhood. We're a community filled with families, where children play safely on their front lawns and neighbors greet each other warmly. We live in this rural area because it offers peace and quiet, elements that a liquor store threatens to undermine.

Rezoning the property at 5507 Central would set a precedent we intentionally moved away from. It introduces commercial elements better suited to urban settings, not our beloved rural community already thriving with familial bonds.

We urge the Board to stand with us in preserving our community's character. Please reject the rezoning for a liquor store at 5507 Central. Maintaining our neighborhood's serenity is crucial for our way of life, and holding onto the values and environment we hold dear.

Join us in sending a clear message to protect Clyattville. Sign this petition to demand the preservation of our community’s peaceful lifestyle and familial atmosphere.
