Reject plans for five new homes on wild land bottom of Wepham Close Yeading Middx
The Issue
For over 25 years, I’ve called Teading my home, a place where open spaces and natural habitats speak volumes about our connection to the environment. The wild land in Yeading has offered refuge to many species of flora and fauna, becoming an indispensable part of our community's ecological identity.
Now, the very essence of this green sanctuary is under threat. Hillingdon Council is considering plans to allow the construction of five new homes on this precious wild land. Approving such a plan would not only disrupt the ecosystem but erase a vital habitat that has thrived in harmony with the community for decades. The land in question isn't just a plot or an unused field—it’s a living, breathing part of Yeading, a green lung in an urban setting.
Allowing development on this land would result in irreversible damage. Our wildlife, from birds to small mammals and a variety of plant species, depend on this habitat for survival. Facts reveal that losing such spaces results in significant decreases in biodiversity which, in turn, affects climate regulation, air quality, and the general well-being of the community.
The planning committee holds the power to protect this land by rejecting the current application proposal. By keeping the area undeveloped,Yeading can continue to be a haven for wildlife.
Preservation of such spaces is crucial—not only for environmental reasons but for maintaining the community spirit and quality of life. We urge the Hillingdon Council to consider the long-term impacts and to prioritize ecological conservation over short-term development gains.
Please, add your voice to ours. Sign this petition to send a strong message to Hillingdon Council to reject the proposed development and preserve the Yeading wild land for future generations. Together, we can protect our shared heritage and ensure a sustainable future for our community.
