Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated Donald Trump for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering a ceasefire in the recent conflict between Israel and Iran.

But the truth behind this nomination is much darker.

The so-called “peace” came only after devastating military escalations — including U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and hundreds of civilian deaths. A ceasefire brokered after a brutal war is not peacebuilding — it’s damage control.

Awarding Trump the Nobel Peace Prize would dishonor the legacy of this award and insult the global community’s efforts to achieve real, lasting peace through diplomacy — not force.

The Nobel Committee must not reward reckless aggression disguised as diplomacy.
