The Issue

There is a boundary change proposal that would place our Campus Oaks neighborhood at Roseville High starting with the 2027/2028 school year. They want to make this a long term 10-20 year change. This will impact our current 7th graders and younger.

There was a board meeting Tuesday to discuss this issue. We had some board members supporting our neighborhood staying zoned for Woodcreek. However, the board was deadlocked in making a final decision on this issue. They are meeting again this Monday May 18th at 9 am. We need all the support we can get! Please also send personal emails to the board members and the superintendent.

Living in Campus Oaks, I have noticed how much easier and safer it is for our children to walk, bike, or scooter to Woodcreek High School. It's not just about convenience; it’s about safety and community cohesion. The proposed boundary change would disrupt stability and potentially jeopardizing their safety and well-being.

Our community thrives on consistency. For years, children in Campus Oaks have grown up together, attending the same elementary and middle schools. They've formed lasting friendships and built a strong support network. Transitioning to Woodcreek High School is a natural progression that would ensure our children continue their educational journey with the peers they've known for years. This continuity is essential not only for their academic success but also for their social and emotional development.

By changing these boundaries, our children will be forced into unfamiliar environments, affecting their ability to thrive both academically and socially. Caregivers also rely on this consistent community, fostering a web of support that is crucial for family stability.

Moreover, studies from the U.S. Department of Education have shown that students who attend schools with their long-time peers exhibit higher academic performance and have better social interactions, reducing stress and anxiety. The proposed change undermines these benefits, which are vital for our children's futures.

We are asking the school district to consider these factors and the impact on our lives. Let’s prioritize the well-being of our children and preserve the integrity of our community. Please sign this petition to reject the boundary change. Your support can help maintain the consistency and safety that Campus Oaks residents depend on.
