P & Z admits Proposed Bahia Mar’s 2600 car underground garage will flood. Planning and Zoning Commission says NO PROBLEM! They approved the Plan 6-3 anyhow with the condition that the developer just provide “automatic flood controls” and “elevated emergency generators” to operate pumps for the subterranean garage. You can’t make this up. This is the pathetic level of analysis the P & Z Commission has devoted to their approval process. P & Z Commissioners naïveté is unfathomable. Do they think that generators and pumps are going to prevent flooding from a 5’ to 10’ storm surge from the Atlantic Ocean during a hurricane?
