Távion Banks’ death has left many unanswered questions and a grieving Mom, family and community seeking justice. Despite the short initial investigation’s conclusion, significant discrepancies warrant a thorough re-examination. The lack of transparency and comprehensive inquiry into his case is deeply concerning, undermining public trust in our justice system. We urge the relevant authorities to reopen Távion Banks’ death investigation, ensuring it is conducted with the utmost diligence and integrity. This is just not about one individual; it’s about upholding justice for all citizens and getting a firm grasp on this silent drug epidemic. This heartbreaking incident has seemingly passed without the depth of investigation it deserves. My child was the 4th child this happened to at Hirsch High School at the time of his demise. There are hundreds of cases like this annually, where a loved one's untimely demise due to drugs is overlooked or insufficiently explored but if this happened on my watch I would be locked up under the jail! (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2021). Why didn’t the cops hold these individuals accountable is beyond me and it all needs to be investigated not swept under the rug. I believe my son deserves justice, and the truth surrounding his death deserves to be known.

It is essential to shed light on his case to prevent similar occurrences from happening in the future - to protect other parents and families from experiencing such immeasurable pain and loss. A more thorough investigation may reveal systematic issues, possibly negligence, that urgently needs to be addressed.
