The Issue

Last year in New York City, a $3.5M program gave free birth control to millions... of rats.

It’s true - NYC rats got free, universal birth control before women in most of the country.

Even more ironically, the Senate had just blocked the Right to Contraception Act, a bill that would’ve federally protected contraceptive rights.

It’s our mission to reintroduce the bill, and get the Senate to Ratify Birth Control!

For World Contraception Day this year, we’re demanding better. Millions of women in the U.S. lack access to birth control, and deserve to be protected by stronger reproductive rights than rats.

Our first step was to bring attention to this contrast, and since only rats get free birth control in this country, we were left with one option:
Women must become rats.

So we took over Tompkins Square Park with our Rat Rally, bringing women together as rats to demonstrate the absurd fact that rodents have better birth control access than most women in the U.S.

But now it’s time to take action. Sign this petition and call on your senators to reintroduce the Right to Contraception Act, the bill for universal birth control access, and vote in support of passing it.

Add your name below, and let’s Ratify Birth Control together!
