Our town, once a beacon of safety, will experience an alarming spike in crime rates following the departure of our local police force and their replacement by the sheriff's department. This change, as we have tragically learnt, has put the safety of our residents at stake. As citizens of this town, we feel the panic looming over our community and the fear that our once tranquil town is losing its essence. We firmly believe in the necessity of having a dedicated, local police force who knows and understands our community inside out, rather than rely on an interim sheriff's department.

The sheriff’s department, no matter how dedicated, cannot match the intimate knowledge of a local force, as revealed by a compelling comparison of crime rates before and after the changeover. In the six months after the implementation of the sheriff's oversight, crime rates will shoot up by 25% relative to the same period last year when we still had our local police (Source: Town's Annual Crime Report). 

We humbly request the governing authorities to acknowledge our concerns and reinstate our local police force. Let's protect our community. Let's restore our town's sense of safety. Sign this petition to bring back our police.
