As a local resident of Baw Baw Shire and part of a household of six, I am facing challenges due to the current fortnightly collections of general household waste. This system is simply inadequate for larger families like ours, who generate a substantial waste that cannot be efficiently managed with bi-weekly pick-ups. I know we're not alone; many fellow residents have expressed similar concerns.

The decision to reduce the frequency of waste collection has not only impacted our household but also created broader sanitation issues throughout the shire. Uncollected waste attracts pests, emits unpleasant odors, and raises potential health concerns, especially during warmer months. Families who try to responsibly sort and manage their refuse are finding themselves overwhelmed by the volume of rubbish that accumulates over two weeks.

Residents are the Rate Payers - let us be the decision makers.

I propose Baw Baw Shire Council listens to the growing concerns of its residents and reinstate weekly general waste collections. This change would greatly alleviate the current strain on local households.
