I, like many others in our community, grew up with the traditional Irish flavour of Buckfast. It was more than just a beverage; it was part of our culture, a symbol of our heritage and identity. Over time, this unique flavour has been altered and we feel that an integral part of our cultural experience has been lost.

Buckfast is not merely a drink; for us, it represents shared memories and experiences. It's deeply rooted in our social fabric and its change has left many feeling disconnected from their roots.

We understand that changes are sometimes necessary for growth or adaptation to market trends. However, we believe that preserving cultural authenticity should be paramount. The original recipe had been enjoyed by generations before us - it's not just about taste but about preserving a piece of history.

We urge J Chandler & Co (the distributors) and Buckfast Abbey (the producers) to consider the cultural significance this drink holds for so many people across Ireland and beyond. We request them to reinstate the traditional Irish flavour of Buckfast so future generations can also enjoy what we once did.
