South Africa, at present, is grappling with escalating crime rates, with an alarming rise in extortion cases, burglaries, and murders. Many civilians in our communities, particularly those with licensed firearms, are willing to actively participate and assist the police in maintaining peace. It is high time that we consider reinstating the Commando System - a community-led crime combat system that proved its effectiveness during past emergencies and domestic disturbances.

The Commando System offers a viable solution in the face of increased domestic unrest, evident during periods such as the Covid-19 era and the current state of South Africa with increase in murders and extortions. It can engage local civilians,not limited to but particularly those owning firearms legally, in their communities to exercise police powers during such states of emergencies or domestic unrest alongside other men,woman and youth members to help combat crime in their communities and districts through innovative ways.This Re-Imagined system can also effectively manage crime rate surges,rapes,murders,extortions and emotional support for victims offering a substantial reserve force to alleviate existing police pressures and could in future act as military reserves during turbulent times.

This petition calls for reinstating this system that will allow civilians to support law enforcement, thereby fostering a safer communal environment. Every signature brings us a step closer to strengthening our crime combatting efforts in South Africa. So let's unite and call for proactive participation to improve our community protection.
