The Issue

The recent update to the Met Office app has left many of its loyal users feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. The previous design was appreciated for its user-friendly layout, intuitive navigation, and the efficient way it delivered weather updates. It was not only a tool for checking the weather but a trusted companion for planning our daily activities.

The new design, on the other hand, has been met with widespread criticism. Many users find it confusing and difficult to navigate, with key features either too hard to find or inconvenient to access. Weather information, which was once presented clearly and concisely, now feels hidden behind endless scrolling and empty unused space. This has resulted in a poorer user experience, leading to potential misunderstandings in weather forecasts, which could significantly impact daily life. Especially with the lack of customisation.

According to user reviews on popular app stores, the dissatisfaction is widespread, with many expressing their desire to revert to the older version. The previous design not only met the needs of its wide user base but did so in a way that was both effective and aesthetically pleasing.

We ask the Met Office to seriously consider the feedback from its users and bring back the previous app design. This change would not only restore functionality and accessibility, but it would also reaffirm the Met Office's commitment to user satisfaction. Let's urge the Met Office to act in the best interest of its dedicated users. Please sign this petition to help us bring back the Met Office app's previous design and improve our weather checking experience once again.
