On Monday, April 4th, GW lifted its indoor mask mandate with the exception of healthcare facilities, yet they would still "strongly recommend them" to everyone while in buildings on campus. This sudden shift has shocked disabled students and or those that are at high risk across campus who fear contracting COVID-19. The pandemic is still ongoing and this repeal of their mask mandate leaves the University's disabled community vulnerable by allowing their peers to be maskless on campus. As The Disabled Students Collective, we are community advocates and we urge the University to reinstate its mask mandate to protect not only our own lives but also the lives of everyone else.
