Reinstate the Dismissed Holocaust Memorial Council Members Now

Reinstate the Dismissed Holocaust Memorial Council Members Now
The Issue
President Trump’s decision to fire multiple Biden-era appointees from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, including Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Ron Klain, Susan Rice, and Anthony Bernal, is a disgraceful politicization of Holocaust remembrance. These individuals have dedicated themselves to combating antisemitism and preserving the memory of one of history’s greatest atrocities.
Their dismissal is not just petty and unprofessional; it is dangerous.
Doug Emhoff, the first Jewish spouse of a U.S. president or vice president, led vital national efforts against antisemitism. Susan Rice helped craft the first-ever National Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. Removing these voices from the Council for political reasons undermines its very mission and disrespects the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.
Holocaust remembrance must never be used as a political weapon. This act sets a chilling precedent and threatens to erode public trust in the institutions tasked with preserving historical truth.
We call on President Trump to immediately reinstate these dismissed members. The fight against hate is bigger than politics, and this Council must reflect that.
