My friend Tara, an awesome individual of the Internet community, was recently banned from Facebook without a clear and fair reason provided. This abrupt action has caused her, a well-loved and respected member of the social media universe, unnecessary distress and has severed important connections she had established over the years.

Facebook, as a global platform hosting 2.8 billion monthly active users (Statista, 2021), has a responsibility to ensure that its community guidelines and moderation policies are transparent, just, and consistently applied. Disallowing a user access without a clear and fair rationale is not conducive to the open and respectful environment that Facebook claims to champion.

We are aware that Facebook's Community Standards have rules and guidelines to ensure safety and respect among users. However, we strongly believe Tara did nothing to break these rules, and therefore her banning is unjust.

This petition is not just about reinstating Tara's account; it's about holding Facebook accountable, ensuring transparency in their moderation policies, and making sure this situation does not repeat with another user.
