Reinstate Six Mile's Beloved Fire Chief and Asst. Chief

Reinstate Six Mile's Beloved Fire Chief and Asst. Chief
The Issue
In the heart of Six Mile, South Carolina, Mikie Barrett , our esteemed Fire Chief, and Kendall Rampey, our Asst. Fire Chief, have become cornerstones of our community. For years, Mikie has been not just a fire chief, but a friend, always there to lend a helping hand in times of need. His unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of our residents is unparalleled. Kendall, too, has devoted his life to protecting our community, working alongside Mikie to ensure Six Mile remains a safe and thriving place to live.
Recently, both Mikie and Kendall were unjustly dismissed from their positions by a decision made under the leadership of our Mayor that the County Administrator and Emergency Management Chief relieved them of their duties. The circumstances surrounding their termination are unclear and unsettling for those of us who recognize their vast contributions and unyielding commitment to our town.
Our community has witnessed firsthand the positive impact Mikie and Kendall have made. They’ve been there during emergencies, putting their lives on the line to safeguard ours. Mikie's leadership has ensured a rapid, organized response to emergencies, saving countless lives and properties. Meanwhile, Kendall's reliability and bravery have supported his fellow firefighters and provided comfort to those in distress.
Their dismissal not only removes two of our most dedicated public servants but also leaves our town vulnerable without their experienced guidance and protection in times of crisis.
We urge County Council to reconsider this decision and take immediate action to reinstate Mikie Barrett and Kendall Rampey. Their return would not only restore peace and efficiency to our fire department but also reaffirm trust within our community.
We call upon the residents of Six Mile, and all those who believe in justice and integrity, to stand with us in this effort. Support Mikie and Kendall by signing this petition to ensure they return to their rightful places within our community.
