In just over a week, our campaign has gained over 900 supporters — a clear message that this community will not accept unsafe walking routes for our children. Thank you to each and every person who has signed, shared, and spoken up. 🙏

Here’s what has been done this week:

✅ Press & Media Engagement – We have contacted local and regional newspapers to highlight the overwhelming support for this campaign. Media attention is vital to ensure the voices of Sandford families are heard and that the council is held accountable.

✅ Support from Elected Representatives – Councillor Elise Frame has publicly confirmed her support, clearly stating: “This is not a safe or suitable route for the children to walk to high school.” She is liaising directly with education officials and has committed to keeping us updated. This adds significant political weight to our campaign.

✅ Community Evidence – We’ve continued to gather photos, measurements, and testimonies to demonstrate the real dangers of the Sandford–Strathaven route — including narrow paths, lack of lighting, and heavy traffic. This evidence will strengthen our case in every conversation with the council.

➡️ Next Steps – We will push for a full reassessment of the route during the actual times children use it — dark winter mornings and afternoons, in poor weather, with peak-hour traffic. We are also working to keep up media pressure and to expand community involvement further.
