I am a passionate user of Wattpad, a platform that has allowed me to connect with others who share my love for stories. However, the recent removal of the private messaging feature has greatly impacted my ability to communicate privately with fellow users. This change has disrupted our sense of community and privacy, as we can no longer discuss topics without unwanted eyes seeing our conversations because we are doing more than discussing stories there are times writes will vent to each other about their problems to someone they trust won't tell anyone and by taking away the private messaging those people myself included feel alone and isolated because we no longer have someone to talk to.

Wattpad is home to over 90 million users worldwide (source: Wattpad Corp.), many of whom relied on this feature for personal and confidential discussions about shared interests. The removal not only affects me but also millions across the globe who value their privacy.

We understand that changes are made for the betterment of the platform, but this particular alteration seems counterproductive. Mostly because it hinders rather than enhances user experience by stripping away an essential communication tool.

Therefore, we urge Wattpad Corp. to reconsider their decision and reinstate private messaging on their platform. By doing so, they will be preserving not just our privacy but also fostering stronger connections within its global community.
