We the parents, students, and staff of Portola Elementary School demand the San Bruno Park School District and its Board of Trustees:

1. Immediately reinstate Dr. Krotz as the principal of Portola Elementary School 
2. Initiate mediation between Dr. Krotz, Supt. Duffy, and Board via a trained, third-party facilitator 
3. Engage us as key stakeholders in the decision-making process on our schools principal 

On December 14, 2023, our principal, Dr. Krotz, was escorted out of Portola Elementary School and then placed on indefinite leave.  This comes a day after a San Bruno School District Board of Trustees meeting where Dr. Krotz publicly raised her concerns about the lack of support from the district to keep students safe, in addition to the harassment she has been experiencing. 

 

 

As parents, students, and staff of Portola we can't let this happen.  We need our leader back and we need her now! 

Placing Dr. Krotz on leave the day after her speech is a powerful example for our children, and we as parents and staff need to teach them that speaking up for the right things is good, will not be silenced, and that Pandas always stick together! 

Why immediately reinstate Principal Krotz?

1. She is the rock and foundation of Portola. Her energy, experience, leadership, and compassion empower our students to learn in a nurturing and safe environment 
2. This is reflected in the highest test and equity scores across the district (click here)
3. Our students and children are losing out today and every day until Dr. Krotz is reinstated because of the absence of their principal (i.e. canceled assemblies , weekly awards ceremonies, principal and parent collaboration, staff support, stem challenge canceled, weekly school status newsletters, parent enrichment seminar s.)

1. If you believe Supt. Duffy is the problem and not Dr. Krotz then consider signing this other petition to put Duffy on leave
