North Carolina State Senior Owen Lloyd achieved a remarkable feat in the men's 1650 yard Freestyle, posting the fastest time, earning him the ACC Title, an automatic entry to the National Championships, and a new personal best. This achievement was short-lived when an announcement was made that Lloyd had been disqualified for "interference with another swimmer."

According to NCAA rulebook - Rule 2, Section 5, Article 1a: "Any competitor who interferes with another swimmer during a race shall be disqualified". However, it is clear that Owen did not violate this rule. The disqualification of Lloyd is not only unjust but also morally wrong as it takes away his hard-earned gold medal for doing nothing.

This petition seeks justice for Owen Lloyd. We demand his reinstatement as the rightful winner of the ACC title and his deserved place in the National Championships. It's time we stand up against such unfair practices in sports competitions which rob athletes of their rightful accolades.
