Reinstate Outraged Employee to the Ministry of Finance in Namibia
Reinstate Outraged Employee to the Ministry of Finance in Namibia
The Issue
I am a former employee of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) under the Ministry of Finance in Namibia, writing not only on my behalf but on behalf of all employees who have fallen prey to bureaucratic loopholes. In 2012, I found myself jobless due to the ministry's late processing of my resignation papers, which robbed me of job opportunities and eventually put me on the ITC. This has led to unimaginable suffering as my means of livelihood were snatched away. With one daughter to look after and a house to provide for, staying afloat has been a huge challenge.
I was accused of absconding by the ministry while in fact, I had properly communicated my resignation to my former deputy director. This miscommunication has led to the loss of my livelihood. According to data from the Namibian Labour Force Survey, the job market has continued to be saturated, making procuring a new job highly challenging.
I, therefore, petition the Ministry of Finance to rectify this error and reinstate me to my former position for the livelihood I lost due to no fault of mine. This not only suits my personal case but also serves as a precedent that pushes the ministry to handle processing errors with higher diligence in the future for all employees.
Stand with me for justice and fairness. Sign this petition to compel the Ministry of Finance, Namibia, to address this issue. Your signature is of immeasurable support to reinstating an innocent's denied livelihood.
