Reinstate Year 12 Athletics Carnival 2026

Our principal has cancelled the Year 12 Athletics Carnival due to weather, despite forecasts of only 14°C and a 20% chance of rain for a couple of hours. These are manageable conditions and are not grounds for cancellation.

We also have to ask: why was this scheduled for late autumn instead of summer? Poor planning should not come at the cost of students missing out.

This is our last ever Athletics Carnival. We are not asking for it to be cancelled, we are asking for it to be rescheduled.

In the meantime, many of us have spent money on costumes. We ask that students be allowed to wear them on the original date and that something fun is organised for Year 12 on the day rather than just a normal day of school.

We call on the school to do right by its Year 12 students.

We deserve better than a cancellation with no alternative.
