Reinstate Officer Jordan Pending Independant Review

Reinstate Officer Jordan Pending Independant Review
The Issue
We, the undersigned residents of Okemah and surrounding communities, call for the immediate reinstatement of Officer Jordan to active duty pending an independent and transparent review of the events of August 8, 2025.
According to both the Okemah News Leader (Aug. 14, 2025) and body-worn camera footage, Officer Jordan responded to a call regarding unauthorized entry by Okemah Code Enforcement Officer Kimberly Bradshaw onto private property without the owner’s consent or a valid court order. Officer Jordan’s actions were in line with public safety responsibilities and applicable law, including informing the code enforcement officer of potential trespass.
Officer Jordan was subsequently placed on administrative leave by City Manager Lesley, without a clear stated reason. It has since been revealed that the code enforcement officer in question is the sister of the City Manager, creating an appearance of bias and conflict of interest.
We demand:
1. Officer Jordan’s reinstatement pending investigation.
2. A fully independent review of the August 8 incident by a neutral third party.
3. A written policy ensuring all personnel decisions involving potential conflicts of interest are handled transparently and without favoritism.
This is not only about Officer Jordan — it is about maintaining public trust, transparency, and fairness in our city government and police department.
Two years ago, on Halloween night in Okemah, sirens cut through the quiet as Officer Trey Jordan sped from the Fiesta Mart parking lot toward a call that would change lives. The call was devastating: a house fire, flames and smoke threatening to consume everything inside.
It was Trey’s instinct and quick recognition of the address that sent him racing to the scene. Inside that home, a man lay asleep, completely unaware that his world was seconds away from disaster. Without hesitation, Trey pushed through the smoke, found the man, and woke him. Disoriented and panicked, the man’s first words were that he thought his girlfriend’s daughter and her cousin might still be in the back bedroom—the very room where thick smoke was pouring out.
Most people would have stopped. Most would have waited for the fire department. But Trey Jordan was not most people. Alongside Officer Starkey, he dropped to the floor and crawled through the choking smoke toward the back of the house, believing two children’s lives were at stake. He didn’t pause to calculate the danger, he didn’t wait for backup—he acted.
By grace alone, the two girls weren’t home. They were out trick-or-treating, blissfully unaware of the peril their house had faced. But Trey didn’t know that when he charged into the flames. All he knew was that if children were in danger, he would risk everything to bring them out alive.
That night revealed the true heart of Officer Trey Jordan: selfless, courageous, and unwavering in his duty to protect. He didn’t act for recognition. He didn’t hesitate because of fear. He acted because protecting life is who he is, and what he has sworn to do.
It is stories like this that remind us why we need officers like Trey Jordan on our streets. He is the kind of protector every community deserves—someone willing to face the fire without a second thought for himself, driven only by his commitment to safeguard others.
