My children have had the privilege of being taught by some truly exceptional educators, but also by some who were not up to par. In this era where teaching is one of the most underpaid and underappreciated professions in our country, finding a teacher who genuinely cares for their students, builds relationships with parents and encourages development is rare. One such rarity was Mr. White.

Instead of punishing him with termination, we should be providing him with professional development opportunities to correct his mistake.
