Reinstate Linela as the uniform supplier for Castle and Marlwood Schools

Reinstate Linela as the uniform supplier for Castle and Marlwood Schools
The Issue
Graham and his team at Linela have always gone above and beyond to support our schools and local businesses. It's more than just supplying uniforms – they're part of our community. Linela has consistently demonstrated their commitment to quality, sustainability, and affordability, setting the bar high for what we expect from a school uniform supplier. Their personalized customer service, attention to detail, and reliable delivery have made them invaluable to us.
Recently, CSET have made a decision to choose a different supplier for Marlwood and Castle, sidelining Linela. This sudden move not only jeopardises Linela's business but also threatens to disrupt the consistency and quality we have come to rely on. It’s an utter betrayal that we, as parents and stakeholders in our children’s education, cannot stand by and let happen.
The DfE guidelines require any uniform tendering process to include consultation with parents and pupils. As far as we are aware, this has not happened. Link for information
Consider the local impact: Linela employs a number of staff from our town, contributing significantly to our local economy. By choosing an outside supplier, CSET risks not only undermining local businesses but also removing essential financial support from our community.
Let us remember the science-backed benefits of supporting local businesses — a study by Civic Economics shows that for every £100 spent at a local business, about £68 stays within the local economy, compared to only £43 when spent at a non-local business. By reinstating Linela as our uniform supplier, we keep jobs within our community and uphold the standards we desire from our school uniforms.
We urge the board of CSET to reconsider their decision and reinstate Linela as the uniform supplier. This isn’t just about uniforms, it’s about supporting those who have supported us time and again.
Please sign this petition and help us bring Linela back to our school.
