The issue

I am a small business owner and active participant in the gel blaster sporting community. The sudden ban on these harmless toys has affected not only my business, SouthWest Gel Blasters W.A but also the casualties of this decision - players and enthusiasts of this unique sport.

Gel blaster is not your regular sport. It allows everyone, irrespective of age or gender, to come together and engage in active play. It's a bonding activity for families and friends and encourages both physical exercise and team building. After the abrupt implementation of this ban, many Australians felt unnecessarily criminalized, and our thriving sporting community suffered an unexpected setback.

Dubious as it may appear, the ban was deemed unwarranted and ruled invalid by the courts. However, the police minister and the commissioner persisted in misleading the parliament and the public about the nature of these harmless toy guns. This overreaction seems directly related to the sharp rise in police shootings from 1998 to 2020, which has seen a shocking 67% increase.

Over these years of struggle against this unjust ban, I have been conducting thorough investigations. I have discovered evidence of the minister's misconduct - a grim sign of the potential erosion of our rights and freedoms by an unchecked Government. The issue is broader than it appears. It's about accountability, about safeguarding our interests, about preserving democratic values.

So, let's stand together and raise our voices against this abuse of power. Request the Australian Government to overturn the invalid ban on Gel Blasters, and let us reclaim our favourite sport, our liberties, and a fair Government. Let's say no more to baseless prohibitions. Please sign this petition and nudge us closer to justice.
