Reinstate Kristin Crowley as LA County Fire Chief and fire Mayor Karen Bass

The Issue

As residents of Los Angeles and recognizing the utmost importance of leadership and dedication in positions of authority, we recount the personal story of Kristin Crowley, a fire chief that truly cares about the people of LA, who has been dismissed from her duty unjustly. Kristin Crowley, the LA County fire chief put her life on the line during the most devastating fire in LA history on January 7. This fire burned 22,000 acres in the Pacific Palisades, leaving a mark on our hearts and our city. However, the hero who took a stand during this tragedy, Kristin Crowley, was fired while Mayor Karen Bass was in Ghana, Africa ignoring the burning plight of her people in Los Angeles. Allegations surfaced that Crowley was dismissed due to her sexual orientation, speaking the truth of not having firetrucks in service during one of the most devastating fires in LA county history, raising serious concerns about discrimination and injustice. Considering the potential negligence and insensitivity from Mayor Bass while she was abroad during the city's worst fire, we request an immediate reassessment of her role as our leader. Los Angeles deserves leaders who are present, attentive, and fair, and who do not marginalize their own people. For these reasons we call for the immediate reinstatement of Kristin Crowley as fire chief of LA County, and a thorough investigation followed by the dismissal of Mayor Karen Bass if negligence is confirmed. Stand with us, and sign now to help put right these wrongs.
