Jack and Harry, two devoted gamers, have been dealt a harsh punishment without due process: their PS5 privileges have been abruptly revoked, highly unwarranted as the allegations against them, a phantom act of damage, have not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. In the spirit of fairness, we advocate for the immediate reinstatement of their gaming privileges.

This is not simply about video games. According to the American Psychological Association, video gaming has been linked to benefits such as improved cognitive abilities and social skills (American Psychological Association). Limited, responsible gaming can contribute positively to their wellbeing - hence our suggestion of granting Jack and Harry PS5 access for three school days every week.

We understand that rules and discipline are crucial. Nonetheless, punishment should never be meted out unfairly and without evidence. This is a plea for justice as much as it is a call for understanding the role of gaming in today's digital-savvy youth culture.
