You have most likely heard that Coach Scott Gray was terminated by the Union County Highschool Superintendent  on Monday April 12th, 2023.  To his players, Coach Gray is more than just a coach. He is a friend, a leader, a mentor, and to some a father figure. He has inspired players to work beyond their limits and respond as respectful adults on and off the field/court. Since 2001 , Coach Gray has been a major player in the growth and development of the Boys and Girls Basketball programs as well as the Girls Softball Program.  Not to forget the travel ball teams he has coached and the camps he has put on to keep building the skills and mindset into our youth. For Coach Gray, every mistake and every achievement is an opportunity to teach.  Coach Gray is a man that leads by example and example should be demanded on our part as parents, players and community members. As parents and community members, we should expect the same from our school district.  Coach Gray, along with his assistant coaches have created an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie in our Sports program. An atmosphere that was UNFAIRLY stripped from us on Monday. His dedication to our athletes, our parents, our school and our town has not swayed for over 22 years now. He was cut down cold turkey the Friday before Spring Break with no explanation as to why. Coach Gray, his staff, and our athletes deserve BETTER! Maybe you are someone he coached, or the parent of a player...Maybe he has coached with you or even against you. No Matter how you know him, it is a tough fact to deny that Scott Gray is a man of integrity and  by far one of the most dedicated coaches Liberty Indiana has and will ever have. He would never give up on our athletes, so we can not give up on him.  We MUST come together as a community, stand tall for our coaches and players, show our support and request that he be IMMEDIATELY reinstated as Union County Head Coach for the remainder of the 2023 season.

 Do it for the 14 girls that are missing him on the field right now. Do it for the upcoming freshman class who couldn't wait to play basketball and/or softball for him next year. Do it for the more than 20 young adults he has helped send to Colleges to play ball and to continue living their dreams.
