Current public policy has moved away from telework arrangements for many government employees, disregarding the benefits that such approaches can present. As shown by the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, 14% of government employees who have utilized telework arrangements have reported higher levels of job satisfaction, and there is a reduction in costs such as commuting and office space leasing (Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, 2016). This abrupt move towards traditional work environments disregards the utility and importance of flexible work environments and telework, especially in our digital era. Therefore, we urge that all governmental agencies reinstate and honor their telework contracts, to support a more efficient and employee-friendly work environment.
