Regarding the Termination of Services of Dr. Anthony Crimaldi, Radiation Oncologist

To the Board of Directors of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital:

We, the undersigned patients, caregivers, community members, and healthcare advocates, hereby formally express our strong objection to the termination of services of Dr. Anthony Crimaldi, an esteemed Radiation Oncologist whose dedication and expertise have profoundly impacted the lives of many patients and families. We respectfully request the immediate reinstatement of Dr.Crimaldi and a thorough review of the decision leading to his dismissal. His removal presents a serious threat to patient care, continuity of treatment, and the trust that our community places in Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Dr. Crimaldi has consistently provided exemplary care, demonstrating exceptional medical knowledge and extraordinary compassion for his patients. His absence would result in substantial disruption to ongoing treatments and impose significant stress on patients and their families during a highly vulnerable time. For cancer patients, trust and confidence in the medical team is a cornerstone of successful treatment, and the loss of a physician of Dr. Crimaldi's caliber jeopardizes that trust.

As a hospital that prides itself on patient-centered care and a commitment to excellence in cancer treatment, we urge the Board to consider the voices of those most affected by this decision. The dismissal of Dr. Crimaldi not only disrupts patient care but also increases stress and delays for patients undergoing treatment, ultimately diminishing trust in Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital as a provider of high-quality cancer care. This decision threatens the stability and reliability that cancer patients and their families need and deserve. Reinstating Dr. Crimaldi would reaffirm the hospital's dedication to patient care and restore the confidence that our community expects.

Additionally, we call for full transparency regarding this decision, including a clear explanation of the factors that led to Dr. Crimaldi's termination and the opportunity for patient and community input regarding critical healthcare services. We request a formal response from the Board within 10 days, outlining the actions that will be taken to address these pressing concerns.

We respectfully petition the Board to:

1. Immediately reinstate Dr. Anthony Crimaldi as a Radiation Oncologist at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital immediately.

2. Conduct a comprehensive review of the circumstances surrounding his termination of services, incorporating input from patients, families, and staff to ensure transparency and accountability. 

3. Commit to improved transparency in administrative decisions that impact essential healthcare services, ensuring that patient welfare remains the hospital's foremost priority.
