As students and parents of the Somerset Berkley Regional High School graduating class of 2027, we collectively express our disappointment and concern over the recent changes made to the student parking lot regulations. Previously, students were assigned designated parking spots, a system we found to be orderly and beneficial for everyone involved. Unfortunately, this system has been altered without our input, prompting the need for this petition.

For years, designated parking spots have offered numerous advantages. These spots provided students with a sense of security, knowing exactly where they would park each day. It assured timely arrivals to classes, minimizing tardiness and the resultant class interruptions. More importantly, it fostered a sense of accountability and ownership among students, as they knew their spaces were theirs to maintain and respect.
