Dear Mead Community,

We, the undersigned, write to you today in support of Coach Keith Stamps, a respected educator, dedicated leader, and beloved head coach of the Mead High School football program. It is with heavy hearts that we have learned of Coach Stamps’ recent firing, a decision we firmly believe is unjust and an unfair response to external pressures, including legal challenges that have nothing to do with his exceptional work and contributions to our school and community.

Coach Stamps has been more than just a football coach. He has been a mentor, a role model, and a constant positive presence in the lives of countless students over the years. Under his leadership, the Mead football program has flourished, fostering not just athletic success, but character development, teamwork, and life lessons that extend far beyond the field. He has nurtured young athletes, helping them grow into responsible, disciplined individuals who contribute positively to our community.

Unfortunately, instead of celebrating his dedication and success, Coach Stamps has been used as a scapegoat to deflect responsibility for ongoing legal matters. This decision does not just affect Coach Stamps personally—it impacts all of us who have witnessed the incredible difference he has made in the lives of our students.

Coach Stamps’ dedication to his students and athletes has never wavered. His impact goes beyond football, as he has been instrumental in shaping the character and future of young men  in our community. His loss will leave a void that cannot easily be filled. We believe that Coach Stamps deserves the opportunity to continue his work at Mead High School, where he has poured his heart and soul into both teaching and coaching.

We call on the Mead School District and the school administration to immediately reinstate Coach Keith Stamps as the head football coach and to recognize his contributions to the school and community with the respect and fairness he truly deserves.
