REINSTATE COACH JASON MISKA/ REMOVE HEAD COACH MIKE PARRIS

The Issue

PARENTS AND TEAM IN UP ROAR.....

This is coming from a parent who has looked into your program from a distant and moved my child from another program in the same county because of the representation of Coach Miska. Coach Jason Miska is more than a football coach for Heritage High School. He is first and foremost a human being that is capable of making mistakes, but to our kids and families whose lives he has touched. He is more than your ordinary high school football coach. Miska is the coach that is there for you when no one else is and that father figure that some kids never had or will have in their life. He is a mentor and a role model. Coach Miska not only focuses on football, in fact football is his last concern when it comes to the kids that he coaches. Miska main focus and purpose is the future of each young man he encounters. He works hard to make a way for his kids to have a successful life not only in football, but also in academics. Although he jokes with the players, we all know what lies in his heart. As for any caring football coach, he strives is providing them an opportunity to go to college for free and to become successful. Not many high school coaches put their all into their kids; Coach Miska takes away from his family and devotes his time to make sure the children needs are met. He has instilled values of pride, hope and encouragement in these boys. Miska has made it that these boys are role models among their peer.

Coach Miska has taught our boys how to maintain their cool on and off the field, but it saddens us to hear and see his peers can’t control theirs. We as parents are ALL disappointed at the release of Coach Jason Miska who has been one of the best coaches that entered Heritage High School. We are very upset that the coach who made our children believes they can win EVERY game unlike the head coach Mike Parris who consistently had no hope in our boys. Our children morale was down because of the “HEAD” who had no faith in their ability to win against the toughest team. Coach Mike Parris might not believe, but Coach Miska and the Heritage High School Football Parents believes our boys can do anything they put their mines to do. Everything starts from the “HEAD” even in our home to help our children succeed in life with their dreams.

Since Coach Parris entered Heritage, our state ranked from #77 to #91. Coach Jason Miska, track record on and off the field attests to the fact that his sole concern is the betterment and success of his players and of Heritage High School. He made opportunities that no other coach at Heritage has ever provided. To speak a little about him, Jason Miska hometown is Bridgeport, Connecticut. He attended Auburn University where he earned a BS Degree in International Business. While at Auburn, he was a three year started at the middle linebacker position. Miska also started as the middle linebacker during the 1993 season when Auburn went 11-0, and he was the leading tackler that season. Prior to coming to Heritage he was the Linebacker Coach at Robinson High School, Tampa, Florida.  He also was an assistant coach to Chad Frazier in improving the football team record from as low as 3-7 one year to Frazier’s last year when they were 8-3. Now under coach Parris the season went 6-5 at Heritage High School. Coach Miska has also been involved in different fundraisers that benefit the school and the students. He has brought in more than $90,000 in funds to Heritage High School. Not to mention this article… $1,399.80 Raised for Heritage Patriot Touchdown Club -September 6, 2013 - Conyers, Georgia - Coach Miska, of Heritage High School, receives a check for $1,399.80 from Nick Gizzi, Manager of The New Car Wash On Old Salem Road. The check was for Heritage Patriot Day at The New Car Wash on Old Salem Road. Through The New Car Wash's Community Support Program, all of the proceeds from full service.”

This is a coach who cares about our children and school. He has helped an estimate between 25-27 defensive players in the NCAA today. Miska also takes the boys to Auburn University High School football camp. Last, but not least he was honored to have helped numerous seniors sign scholarships on signing day at Heritage. He is ONE heck of a football coach and a tireless worker for the kids and the program.

We as parents are asking for the REMOVAL of Coach Parris on the job he is doing that is very unsatisfactory. He has no confidence in our children to perform as a Heritage Football Team. He displayed many of his negative thoughts about our children on and off the field in our local newspaper. (http://www.rockdalecitizen.com/news/2013/oct/18/heritage-shut-out-by-flowery-branch/) This is coming from a coach who only played high school football himself and baseball during his college years. Just like his lack in confidence in our children, should we as parent assume his ability to play high school football was not good enough for college? HE HAS FAILED THIS PROGRAM AND THE PLAYERS OF THIS TEAM.

We are asking/demanding for the REINSTATEMENTS of Coach Jason Miska. All he has done for the team and school, we ask that he is giving a chance as not just a Defensive Coordinator Coach, but the HEAD COACH. The parents and players will come together to support Coach Jason Miska so that he can continue to bring us winning seasons on and off the field. I know that it is a lot to ask to support someone when you don't know what’s going on and all you hear are allegations, but that is just what they are allegations and we have to stand strong as a community and to support Coach Miska just as he would for our boys if we ever needed him. Let’s rally and show them that we are PATRIOTS and Coach Miska is important to this Heritage High School Football Team. GO PATRIOTS!
