I am a staunch advocate for the return of our beloved Cal State Long Beach's football team. This is not only my personal wish, but also the desire of many in our community, state, and possibly the nation. The pulse of the crowd, the cheer of the students, the thrill of the game – we miss it all. This sport was an essential part of our identity. 

It's been a few decades since Cal State Long Beach lost its football team. Now, we seek not only to reinstate it but also to have our team included in the PAC-12 Conference – where it rightfully belongs. 

Historically, Cal State Long Beach’s football team has delivered significant victories and produced talented athletes, some of which have gone on to make names in the NFL. The team provided essential leadership training and camaraderie, shaping our students’ characters and molding future leaders. With the loss of the team came the loss of these invaluable experiences. 

A number of universities across the west coast enjoy the spirit, sense of community, and pride that come with being part of the PAC-12—an experience Cal State Long Beach deserves. We urge the university administration and PAC-12 officials to consider this sincere request from a community longing for a return of its collegiate football culture. 

It is time to bring back our team, and our pride. This is the voice of the people, and we request your support in signing this petition to make Cal State Long Beach roar with football chants once more.
