Reinstate Busing for Colonial Manor students that attend WDHS

The Issue

For many in our Colonial Manor community, the busing issue is a deeply personal one. It impacts the safety and well-being of our children. Our children are having to find alternative ways to school because the high school bus services were discontinued. Not all children have the luxury of being driven by their parents or guardians, and not all can safely walk or bike in all weather conditions.

Indeed, the cancellation of high school busing has brought many hardships, frustrations, and anxiety for families and students, causing problems from delayed arrival times to increased safety risks. Many studies reveal that providing school transportation has sizable effects on student achievement and wellness (American School Bus Council).

Now that our community owns the buses, reinstating the high school bus services is certainly feasible and it is a move that can greatly enhance our children's safety. Let us remember the true essence of a community - it's about looking out for each other, providing support especially for our young ones. Let's prioritize our children's safety and educational success.

We call upon the relevant authorities to assess the situation and work toward reinstating busing for high school students in Colonial Manor. Sign this petition to join us in protecting our children and promoting their academic success.
