In Nov 2021 ‘Countless Hundreds’ of BC Nurses were “Mandate Fired” for no reason. They could have continued providing patient care using PPE as they did through the so called pandemic for the last 2yrs, but instead, the health employers fired them and the Gov’t. supported this wrongful and discriminatory decision that violated their Charter Rights.

Prior to their termination, BC nurses were operating at 1000 staff short every day and were struggling to safely cover shifts across our province. The safe Nurse to patient ratio on a general nursing floor is, 1 Nurse to 4 patients. This was already being stretched prior to the terminations and many nurses found themselves trying to care for between 6 patients daytime and 8 patients at night. In 2021 this was an unsafe practice that nurses were being forced into.

Now with the loss of countless experienced nurses, hospitals are desperately short-staffed and patient care is in critical danger with nurses trying to care for and medicate up to 10 patients at a time. This is absolutely unsafe for the patients and the nursing staff.

Keep in mind that General Practitioner Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Psychologists are all still providing patient care using Personal Protective Equipment, (ie. gloves, gowns and masks), so why did they fire BC Nurses  and Paramedics who could have continued doing just the same?

These nurses have years of critical patient care experience which belongs to the public of BC and is an invaluable resource that has been lost. These heroes gave all they had for the last few years from 2019 to 2021 and they were rewarded by being fired.  These highly trained and dedicated individuals lost everything for no good reason and now they are calling on the public to help in the fight to Re-instate them back to their jobs.

This resource of highly trained professionals belongs to the public of BC and you deserve to have it back. Make your voice known so these nurses can return to caring for you and your loved ones.  Almost every other province has hired back the nurses and Paramedics, why is the BC Gov’t. putting lives in danger every moment?  

Instead of hiring back these expert Canadian trained and experienced nurses, they are trying to hire internationally to hide the consequences of the wrongful terminations that they invoked. This is outrageous!
