Reinstate Achinthya Sivalingam and Hassan Sayed at Princeton University

The Issue

My name is Jeeva Senthilnathan, an Indian American activist and a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at Colorado School Of Mines. At 18, I ran for city council in my local area, taking bold political actions that often caused worry amongst my family. Today, I stand in solidarity with two brave students - Achinthya Sivalingam and Hassan Sayed - who have been banned from Princeton University for their involvement in the Gaza encampment protest.

These students were exercising their right to peaceful protest – a cornerstone of our democratic society. Their expulsion not only infringes upon this right but also sets a dangerous precedent for future activists on campus. We must remember that universities are meant to be spaces where ideas can be freely exchanged and challenged.

The activism of Achinthya and Hassan is reminiscent of the bold actions we need more of in our society today. It's time we stand up against punitive measures taken against those who dare to speak out on contentious issues.

We call upon Princeton University to reinstate these students immediately, ensuring they can continue their education without fear of retribution for their political beliefs or activities. Please sign this petition if you believe in protecting the rights of student activists like Achinthya Sivalingam and Hassan Sayed.
