Reinstallation of the second basketball hoop in Seminole Glen park

Reinstallation of the second basketball hoop in Seminole Glen park
The Issue
We, the undersigned residents of Seminole Forest, urge the City of Fitchburg Parks Department to consider reinstalling the second basketball hoop in Seminole Glen Park.
Last year, the City of Fitchburg Parks Department updated the basketball court by removing one of the two existing hoops and extending the court. This has left an unusual empty space with reduced access in a neighborhood thriving with children and families, meaning kids, teens, and adults are left waiting to use a single hoop.
Several requests have been submitted to the Parks Department to reinstall the second hoop, but each has been denied—even when the community offered to cover the costs through fundraising. This is particularly frustrating because the project was presented as an upgrade, yet no input was gathered from neighborhood residents beforehand. As our community continues to grow, we ask that the basketball court at Seminole Glen Park be restored to its original two-hoop setup.
