Reinstall Trade Union Rights to the Prison Officers Association
The Issue
In England and Wales it is illegal under section 127 of the criminal justice act for members of HM Prison Service (HMPPS) to undertake industrial action in protest of the hostile and poor working conditions that HMPPS members of staff are subjected to without an appropriate mechanism in place to address staffs issues and matters of concern to the employer section 127 of the CJA impedes our nominal trade union the Prison Officers Association (POA) from exercising the afforded rights of trade unions this petition is in aid of reinstating trace union rights to the POA as is afforded to all other trade unions in England and Wales.
