Brian Friend is a health teacher at Atholton High School who has touched the lives of many of his students. This long term sub entered the year in a tough position, but he challenged the odds. Whether it was answering important health questions with intelligence, having in depth discussions about topics that interested his students, or being an ear for a student having a tough time, he did it all with passion. Mr. Friend is by far one of the most important teachers at Atholton. But as this school year is coming to a close, Atholton’s administration decided that they would not be rehiring Mr. Friend. This great injustice enraged Mr. Friend, and his students that received the news. It is our job to be the voice of Mr. Friend and the reason against the unreasonable. We all have a friend in Mr. Friend, and if he can stick around, he will influence and motivate students for years to come.
