As the owner and caretaker of a rescue farm for ducks, geese, and chickens, I'm advocating for change due to the potentially grievous impact on local farms nationwide. Currently, Tractor Supply Company allows its customers to purchase baby chickens, ducks, and other waterfowl without any regulations - a symptom of irresponsibility, considering the ongoing avian flu crisis. This health threat has led to the culling of millions of farm flocks and beloved backyard pets, yet companies like Tractor Supply continue to potentially put our ecosystems at risk.

In addition to the personal threats that we are experiencing in our local farm communities, these practices also put at risk the nation's $48.3 billion poultry industry - a vital sector of the US economy ("US Poultry & Egg Economic Data," 2018). It is evident that more regulation is required to control the potential widespread infection caused by unchecked and inappropriate practices.

We ask that Tractor Supply Company protect our local and national ecosystems, economies, and personal livelihoods by reevaluating their selling procedures and implementing strict regulations.
